I thought I would kick this off with a summary of last nights discussion. I think the picture captures what I took to be the points of agreement,
the big idea and the supporting ideas. I know that they are actually unresolved questions more than ideas but we can work on that. Post your thoughts, suggestions, ideas, expansions, critiques etc. to comments.
I juts had an idea that we could refer this blog to other people for comments on specific things like family friends etc - make it more collaborative - get more ideas involved etc. Sort of our own elance
ReplyDeleteFantastic James! Thank you for summarising Saturday night. I'm excited about this, will do some thinking while in/en route to Texas and the action when we get back! First meeting Monday 6th December!
ReplyDeleteI was a little excited too - hence the nerdy presentation !!
ReplyDeleteBut you must be sick of seeing this blog template! !
ReplyDeleteA quick test to ensure I'm on
ReplyDeletehttp://www.thefoodee.com/blog/category/uncategorized/meal-of-the-day/ this guy is an interesting marketing concept - he has sent out a little "meal of the day widget" to every crossfit affiliate which links straight to his blog (if you want to see an example go to www.ironmajorcrossfit.com and look on the right hand sidebar. I think he is a case of market then product - so his idea would be, I think, to generate alot of traffic to his site then sell advertising space or some other product.
ReplyDeleteInteresting concept. FInd something interesting to post on the internet via a website: generate interest and then sell advertising space. Would that be possible if it were being done for a charity? Start there and if it gets hits at least it might have proved the concept.
ReplyDeleteI have added a new link - "flying solo" which is a micro business site. I have read the stuff on passive or recurring income and the dominant idea is that - it doesn't come easy - as with everything success comes on the back of grind and graft and a very small measure of inspiration. No surprise I guess.
ReplyDeleteCheck out this website: we can chat about it Monday. It has been set up by a friend of mine less than a week ago. I've emailed her asking for some advice and thoughts about setting up on her own. I'm sure you guys will love the fact that she's an Aussie!! She has an amazing opening and it looks as though she will go from strength to strength....

Wow - thats it ? it seems too simple to be true - she has just turned what Susi does for a hobby into a business!!!
ReplyDeleteCurious about how she spread the word so that on D -day people started buying - that can't be all from google ?
